This house is owned by a local artist; Luis. After spending a lot of time in the jungle, he is back living in his house with his 2 cats and a dog.
The house and its facilities are very simple, but have a creative and alternative ambiance due to Luis’s artwork around the house. There is a big, open kitchen area which the rooms are based around. You will have to go out and buy soap, toilet paper, cleaning products etc.
Luis is very friendly, philosophical and interactive, and he can introduce you to a lot of interesting people. He offers lessons in sculpting, culture, and various other arts, is interested in alternative therapies and will also be happy to take you out surfing. He can also organise tours to Tarapoto, in the Peruvian Amazon Basin, which is a great place to start tours to the Amazon Rainforest, and where as well, if you, like you can consult a traditional local Shaman.
The atmosphere in this house is very chilled, earthy, communal and would be a great place to practice Spanish.
